This non-linear, episodic series features an story interwoven within it's ensemble at a crucial point in their lives; rooted in an exciting world of science fiction and space fantasy!
Much of Vermilion Royale is inspired by the author's love for science fiction, space fantasy, television, film, anime, video games and most importantly, music. However, as extraordinary as these characters are, this series not only delves into their exploits but the quieter, more personal moments as well. The adventures, the down-time, relationships, conflicts, slice of life and dealing with loss are amongst some of the elements brought to light throughout Vermilion Royale. Don't worry, there is plenty of action, fights and mecha madness in-between those low-key moments!
Welcome! My name is A. Maximillian Russell, but many of you know me as podcaster & streamer, "Soul Bro Ryu". I've co-hosted & produced the "Gundamn! @ MAHQ" podcast for over 14 years (est. 2007), as well as streaming games, commentaries & podcasts live since 2013 & editing Anime Music Videos since 2003.
Before any of those, however, my first love was writing, creating original stories and fanfiction starting in my pre-teens. After many years of having ideas for new stories, but not moving any further than the brainstorming phase, inspiration hit in 2018 when I was hit with the writing bug again. My work for "Vermilion Royale" began in October 2018 and has been my obsession ever since, as I now work on the second draft of the first volume, "God Bless the Ring".
